Well looky here. I posted something.
I've been kinda busy on this Thief2 Mod for a while. But the other week I decided I'd better finish off some old crap.
This was started ages a go in the spirit of the box drawing and life drawing thing. T'ain't much but it was an interesting excercise.
without further ado, I give you the view about 25-30 degrees to my left.
I got slack/bored in various places. But as usual I'd rather hear what everyone else notices before I say what I think about it.
So tear it up like the salivating dogs that you are.

for such nice marantz equiptment, you certainly have a lot of crap on it, you better treat that stuff better Looks cool though, even if its not entirely interesting. You did a good job on the black plastic edges of the marantz stuff really captures the material. They are a bit dark on the face plates though, maybe some more specularity on the buttons to help them stand out.. but since this was just an exercise i'll shut up, looks great

Probably just my eyes, but do you really stand your hifi on blocks of ice?!?
A very nice picture though - the object look really solid - almost pick-up-able.

The door on the left doesn't look the most convincing... at least, it's not up to par with the rest of the pic. Unfortunately, I'm not too good at photorealism, so I can't really say what might improve it. ;( |

eek! Thanks folks. (certainly seem to like it more than me)
Yeah, the stack sits on top of a couple of plastic bucket like things, so I can push my sampler further back onto the desk (which is what the disks are for). The sampler is just out of frame.
I think the door is a bit lifeless colourwise too, and I also don't know what to do about it. I'd probably just get a bit more variety in there, stronger saturations in places, a bit stronger looking wood grain etc. (ie; pissfart around and see what works)
(for Hifi geeks; the set up is quite old, about 5 or six years. I suppose that not unusual, but I know truly harcore, well financed audio geeks who update their stuff all the damn time. It's scary. Anyway, they run a pair of Bi-wire Mission 751is which are over against the wall, also quite old.)
thanks for the words peeps. Feel free to say more, obviously. |

I really like this one. Nothing flashy [as in I'm covering up my drawing with lensflares], just solid drawing and values!
