Well, this is just a test pic I did this morning from a photo reference, to see if I could get a handle on Painter 6. I know there are a load of problems with it, but I was concentrating more on technique and colours than construction. I'm actually surprised with how easy it was, although I found I couldn't use layers on it because partially transparent strokes turn white, and smeary brusheswork don't work across layers. Does anyone know how I can get around those problems?

I'm having the same problems, but I started using it's "wet paing" feature more because of that, all you do is draw what you want, then dry the paing, and paint in layers... it's kinda weird at first, but more... involoved you have to think about the drawing more, rather than which layer it's on.... dunno, I started painting in painter classic, so I never got used to photoshop
