Kain - I like some of the colors you used. The eyes strike me as too far apart though, and the nose too wide for his face. Also the lips appear moved too far his left (camera right). Also his ear is very large in proportion to the read of the head.
Just a couple things I noticed (that is, if you were going for a "realistic" head in the first place). If you change it, post it up. I'd like to see a refined version |

Yeah there are some proportion issues. Like I think the ear is a little to far from the eyes as well. As for refine. I really like the seeing the brush strokes for this one. Its more of a lesson painting then really a keeper. So I will just leave it at that. Thanks for your input. I will keep that in mind on future ones!

The flesh jumps out at me most. I like the watery, yet hard-edged style. What I mean is that the colours and gradation are soft, but it's not smudged all to hell, kinda rough, and I like that. It feels painted to me. I'd liken it to the way Jenny Saville does flesh. (She's a British painter of these giant female nudes.) Almost choppy. I'd like to see a refined version as well, if you're into it, just because of those proportion issues.
