OK, I dunno if anyone's interested in something like this, but here are a few ideas. These are based around Painter's unique net painting function. Because we have so many different styles and skill levels here, I think it'd be fun to collaborate. Not everyone on one painting necessarily, but start randomly assigning, say, partners and have them work together on a piece.
Anyone who wanted to participate could have his name put in the hat, and people would be signed up. The groups could be posted on a website.
Alternatively, we could have pseudo-competitions. Since we all like different stuff there wouldn't be any real "winners," but it would be fun to get some of the better people here(Spooge, Fred, Micke when he comes back, Francis, etc) act as a sort of "team captain," who would not so much draw the whole thing, but act as a guide to help the others. We could rotate captains and groups every so often to make sure everyone gets to work with everyone else over time.
What do ya think? I know it'd be hard to coordinate, but I think the benefit would be a great addition to getting feedback here in the forum.

Don't really understand the specifics, but It sound like a good idea, Worth a try anyway.
Painter's unique net function? Not eveyone has painter (and even when they do they dont use it all the time)
I remember as a kid playing that game where you would fold a piece of paper in three and then the first person would draw the head of a character and then fold it so it was hidden, thus exposing only the empty paper where the middle of the character was supposed to go. the second person would have no idea what you just drew and would then continue the drawing. when everyone was done we would unfold the paper and laugh at the stupid creature that resulted.
Everyone with me?
Not really anything to do with what you said but it reminds me what fun it was to do colaborative drawings.
So yeah

There's one. Come on guys, where's your passion? I know we're all(well, most of us) very busy, but it'd be fun, and productive!

I wasn't aware that Painter had a net function.. cool!
If some of us could just 'watch' Craig Mullins or another master here create an image from beginning to end it would be FANTASTIC.
Believe it or not, I have never seen someone paint/draw commercial art from scratch to completion before, which I fear is the largest obstical in my way when it comes to beginning my own work.
If it is possible to record a stroke file or movie to see an image being built from scratch to finish, I for one would be inspired and extremely grateful. Better still 'seeing' it being done live via the net would be even better (I have cable, 44k/sec capped though, which I think will handle the throughput it may require)
What do the masters say?

Better yet, it has built in chat, so you can ask questions to bug them whilst they paint.

I have looked in Painter Classic and Painter 6 but haven't found any net feature. I also found out much to my own disappointment that Photoshop actions don't record brush strokes
How do you use the Painter net function? (if there is one ) |

First no one can have anything open. Then they all must be set to the same port(Objects/Network/options), and you just connect to the other guy's IP address. If any of you would like to try it, just email me, message here, or ICQ me at 892392 or AIM me at LordAnt11.

Sorry, I had gone to bed when you posted. Which is why if this is to be done we need organization.
