So, I get a Wacom Intuos, and I'm thinking, what should I put up here for my "coming out", cus now I'm a wacom owner (and on my 19th birthday too *single tear*)

Story: I first did a couple sketches, nothing worthy, a stupid self pirtrait in 5 minutes, and then I decided to go all out, so here it is, my tribute to the coolest (not necessarily talent wise) artist I know, and if you met her you'd know what I mean, you rock J.A.N.E!

notes: I traced photo for outlining major areas, and figuring out the skintone and other major shading areas, so I'm not really that great, but I LOVE how it turned out, and yes that's how she looks like

so now you know her in real life.

Good coming out pic! What kind of digital media did you use to create it? pencil, pastel, brush, airbrush?

Looks like Painter with mixture of all sorts of media.

Look forward to seeing how you develop (along with the rest of us)

from what I remember, I used (painter 6.0) a camelhair brush for most of it, and a smeary round brush when I needed to blend a bit more, also, lots of work with 1 pixel brushes around the hair and facial features (eyes, ears, nose and mouth) the whole thing was about 4 hours to complete, and over the course of about 24 hours...
oh yah, I used soft charcoal for whenever I needed larger area, cus it's smoother going on the picture than a brush

hey nex, you still do music? I was wondering if you'd like to help with some OE stuff, E-mail me if you wanna, I'll fill you in, I've gotten some work done with ppl, and I will be away from a netconnection for the summer, but I can get E-mail once a week or so, so tell me if you'r interested, I'm out of the country as of 10 hours from now
