That 4x5 one just seems to small for anything. Or whatever the smallest one is. Or is it just me? I'm looking to get one soon here, but the 400+ price range is a bit high for me. If it helps in the long run, I'll save for a better one though, ya know? Whats some opinions out there?

Thanks for any time you give me. YOu all rock!

nori's trying to help... heheh no really, I'm sure there was a time where this question would be answered quick. But it seems when it appears in multiple's of 100's that people get annoyed, try using the search function first for any questions. I've heard a 6x8 is fine, however I'm lucky enough to have a 12x12 supplied to me at work. But I'd personally never go below a 6x8. I guess it depends on your budget

I'm using a 4x5 at home. It's fine, and my 6x8 at work is fine too. I actually prefer the 4x5, because it's easier to get around. Since I zoom in as needed anyway. it's not like I miss the extra space.

4x5 Pffff!!...

6x8 Pffff!!...

12x12 Pffff!!...

Here's my WACOM INTUOS RS-2000-OVERKILL!!

And no, the mouse and pen aren't shrinked, they have the same normal proportions. It's just the tablet which has different proportions......
...Overkill proportions!!

What I'd like to know is the difference of performance between a Serial port and a USB port. I've heard USB is better, but it'd be nice to have that comfirmed.

I think USB may be faster - but I'm not sure. It definately is suppose to have greater ease of installation and crap rather than the serial. Personally, I like the USB a lot better.

USB is good as long as you're not planning to use NT4 for anything.

A4 Oversize's here. 4 of them.

Working in a 9X12 here Its great! Although one question. I work in 800x600 cause I have a crappy 15 inch monitor and all, but when I try to work in a larger res, my tablet will only go down to the size of what it was in 800 x600, like it will hit an imaginary margin and I can access the rest of my window with my pen....Werid. Dont know how to change it though.

Hey Kain, had the same problem you did. I have a 9x12 myself and had that same imaginary wall problem. I talked to Wacom support and they told me to change my monitor setting to 800x600. Of course it worked fine then but 'the tablet should be able to support higher resolutions, right?" Well, the guy I was talking to didn't have a clue but I got it all figured out:

My problem was I had 3 different users on my machine: Me, my fiance, and the default desktop you get to by pressing 'cancel' when asked to log on. What I didn't realize is that the Wacom drivers initialize the tablet at startup and do not change when you change screen res. Since my default desktop (which loads prior to switching to a different user) was set to 800x600, all I had to do was change that desktop to 1024x768 and viola, the tablet worked beautifully on my desktop which was set to 1024x768.

I know you losers (joking) don't like question about tablets, but come on I'm a newbie in the digital world! So does it really make a hugh difference between the sizes 4x5 and 6x8 (can't afford bigger at the moment) or are they all workable? And does anyone use a graphire, I've heard it's crap to Intuos! Is it? Just wanted to know from ppl who use em! I'll post some of my crappy "mouse" paintings soon! bwwwaaah!

Btw, y'all rock man!

I don't know if someone has said it yet, but I don't really wanna read through all the posts on this thread. Everyone told me when I asked what size tablet to get that it depends on what kind of storkes you like to take. I got a 4x5 and i dislike it cause i hate taking small strokes and it's a huge pain in the ass. So get what you think you would like... I don't know if this helps, but if you'd like - be a stuburn asshole and don't listen to me... you'll see.
