Hi, a friend of mine tiped me of this forum, and from what I have seen so far...it looks COOL! Been to this site a few times over the last 18 months or so, but I always seem to loos the URL. Got it bookmarked now...no sweat.
Anyhow, I just got a Wacom here at work (used them before, but not had my own). So, I thought Id put it to the test, and draw a selfportrait. Now..I am having a bit of a problem "sharpening" up the image. I think this is very typical for people who learn to draw realistic, they get to a point where they see something is missing, but not quite sure of what. So, Ill post my image here, and maybe some of you can gimme tips, or hints as to what need to be done to ad that extra realism, to make the details seem sharp and crisp. Now, I feel its a bit....mmh..out of focus, or something. Any tips is apriciated (spellcheck).

See ya around..

first of all hi n'welcome.
to get the hair sharp don't use a blurred brush but a solid one-
The rest would be just fixing shadows and highlights (and the left eye maybe)
Looks cool this far.. but I thing you should go into details last (beard, wrinkles), when you already have the shadows and highlights worked in.
good luck, cya

looks pretty cool so far, you look really familiar, probably just have one of those faces. i havnt been doing this digital painting stuff for long, but the easiest way to make things look sharper and to get more details in is to work really big, like 2,000 pixels wide + big. that way when you shrink it down it looks like it has alotta detail and hides your brush marks, i cant tell if thats what youve done but figured id mention it cause i didnt see it in your post. oh yah, ive found... airbrush is bad, use the paintbrush.. otherwise you get that blurry hair thing goin on. looks good though, just fix dem pupils
