Alright, I really like the idea of the painting, and I think it is very well done. However, there are a few things you may want to change (or not, I'm just here to critique.)
Anyway: http://pages.prodigy.net/orion131/artstuff/critique.jpg Here's my critique.
Critique Key:
1) In accordance to his pose, his spinal column would be located below his chin, which is here. Because of this, his robes, etc, should be centered here as well.
2) Because of his pose, and the way he is looking at the camera, the perspective on his face makes it look as though he has a flat face like a fish. To correct this, make sure you can see only one side of the face, and maybe a few eyelashes from the other side. Also, the head should be rounder, and less square.
3) In accordance to his head and his body, his hands need to be a bit larger. This is also because of the forshortening you used in the image.
Ok, those are the major areas which I thought needed to be covered. I drew the basic pose over your image ( I hope you don't mind) just to try to show the perspective of the pose.
Sorry if that was a little harsh. If you don't like what I said, just don't listen to me. |

I think it looks great, true what stolin said, that his neck is too short, but I think he should either have a longer neck or a double chin joke, I think it's fine perspective.
