Hi again.

I just went over the Demoness picture again to fix areas that had gotten a little too flat.

Until later,

Boomer

I have a head ache just thinking of wearing that head piece. It's great, intense eyes.. she's all tough.

Tell me, is it easier or harder to work in black & white?

I've said it before, and I'll repeat myself, it looks great. There is only one single thing I find strange about it, and that is the iris (irii?) seem a tad bit too small. It shouldn't take long to fix, if that is what you'd like to do. If not, it's a great pic nonetheless. Congrats.

frost.

I'VE ALWAYS LIKED THIS ONE
I like the shadows and the shapes and forms on this one. Did you draw this one from your own mind or did you use refferance?
Er du Nordmann forresten?
Very good job!

I like this one, too. I scribbled something but it came out a little different, though. I am working on a matte of the White House, and it is driving me crazy. Therapy...

Look cool Spooge. I always like seeing your work, the large smooth brushes, a little number of strokes, and you got the picture made...

I'm just wondering (maybe I'm wrong), you got a hard white light reflecting in the eyes, yet the lighting seems very subtle and smooth on the rest... any thoughts or explanations on that (aside from the fact that eyes are far more reflective)?

Really like the way your pics are smooth, with lots of ambient lighting, giving a sense of a bigger environment, not as closed in or tight.

If your job is getting to you, you can always take a break and come teach me some...

frost.

Spooge! Great pic. Have to admit that your angle look a bit better, makes her look more sullen. Perhaps that "hard light in her eye" is because shes full of tears in her eyes?

Very nice spooge! As always.
I think the eyes looks fine
The eye would probably reflect and show stronger highlights than the rest because it's has a wet and more gloss texture.

Micke, you're probably right. But I was thinking that skin is also more 'specular' than that... being a bit oily and all.

sorry. i should shut up.

Hey Micke. That was a quick reply...I was just over at the Top Cow mess. board to do a reply there..

Well, that was done in Photoshop as well. But when I used to ink in a trad. way I prefered the pen.

Have you been at the Top Cow board? Tons of great artists there....

,B

Btw.. I read about a game (sorry... don't remember the name right now!) in the new edition of Edge. A FPS from Innerloop... Are you by any chance involved in that??

thanks guys.

Jess - Yeah, For me working in just BW is a little easier, but that might have to do with the fact that I until recently only did flat black and white comic style images (which I still love to).

for proof.....

I don't like doing BW any better than color images, but I think its great for improving on form and light/shadow.

Micke - Thanks. I means a lot since I really dig your work as well And no! jeg er ikke normand, men fra Jeres oprindelinge moderland - Danmark... Just kidding! ;-) Actually I just spent a nicely skiing weekend in Trysild a couple of weeks ago! I highly recommend it to everybody!

Spooge - Well I guess that I really dont have to say how much a clap on the back means when its coming from you. Thanks! And that sketch ROCKS! Love to see it more finished...

Whooah
That's a really nice Ink drawing!
One of my favorite mediums!
I have tons of ink drawings at home.
Do you use a brush or a pen?
If you got more of those please post them

Yeah, I played up contrast and edges in the eye and let the other stuff fall away. I did play up the gloss in the eye, it is another way to differentiate materials. Women, "attractive" ones, at least, should be very flat, or matte, and one way to make this seem so is to play up the gloss in other areas.

Other tricks to make them seem fashion-ish:

large distance from upper eyelid to eyebrow(reverse this for a tough guy)

No nose at all

High contrast, graphic lips and eyes

Don't shortchange the back of her head either.

Do not model the forms and planes of the head, use the eyes and lips and the outline of the face to show form. This will also help the matte quality of the skin.

These are very general cliches, don't abuse them or it gets into lens flare territory.

I like greasy women, but clients don't
