Discovered this forum today, and wow! I would love some constructive criticism, there are some amazingly talented people here. All are digital except the last, which is a figure drawing exercise.

Welcome to Sijun.
Might have to wait a while for C&C, the forum's been quite slow for a while (except the speedpainting thread). :-/ |

Hey I like these. There's something about your aesthetic that really works for me, everything feels very organic and narrative, but very cryptic and symbolic at the same time. I wouldn't mind seeing a looser, more illustrative spin on the first two, similar to the Tink piece. Seems to be the best vehicle for your approach. Keep em coming. |

Welcome swinsea!
Yeah, it has been slow here lately, but im sure it will pick up soon!
I like these too. Especially the last ones. The first two looks a little stiff to me. The shading is a little flat and life-less.
In the second picture it might be an idea to add a different light-setting to the image. the background suggests the sun going down, yet the two characters are not affected by this. See where im going with this? Go moree crazy like in the last ones. They look great! Stronger color & more contrast:) Good luck! |

Thank you, everyone, for your comments!
I can definitely see that playing with better contrast, especially with color, would do me some good. I'll make a point of that.
I've been doing looser, more organic sketches lately - trying to loosen up a bit. Also playing with more traditional media.
(I'll get it scanned soon, and it'll look worlds better!) |
