I'm in the process of transposing some of my digital work from several years ago into oil paintings, using a grid system. To get the process started, I'm doing a few full size detail paintings from the larger composition. This is the first finished detail.
15.5" x 17.75"

Nice warm tones you've got in those feathers.

Because I've come to prefer the surface of an oil painting more than the surface of a digital print or monitor screen, so I thought it would be personally satisfying to base oil paintings on my past digital work. For some years now, I've been laying out compositions for oil paintings digitally. I've gotten to the point with my oil painting where I feel I can begin matching some of the textures inherent in my past digital images.

Sort of a combination of Odd Nerdrum and Daniel Sprick.

Hey Eyewoo!!!

Nice to see you are still around! Really nice painting. I remember your stuff from x years ago. (Don't know if you may remember me.)
I just got back today after at least 5 year break from sijun and all the nice stuff that i see here made me start some speedpaintings and sijun lurking again.

Now I'm gonna check out what's new on your site.

Catch you later!
