Anyone else notice how, when you press ctrl-alt-z or whatever your shortcut happens to be to step back in history, not only does CS2 undo your last brushstrokes etc, but if you happened to switch layers in between actions, it also undoes the layer switch? This is something I've always found annoying, but since I haven't really been using layers that much, it hasn't been such a huge problem. Lately though, I was working on something with more than the usual two or three layers, and it drove me CRAZY: I constantly found myself painting on the wrong layer. Is there any way around it? Is this "feature" still in CS3?

yes that's very annoying, not very logical. It's the same in CS3. I usually just draw a dot or something after switching layers to avoid that... Confused
