I am new to this www stuff, and I do not understand how to post images. Some sites allow you to upload directly from "C" drive, or "E" drive. Others do not. I am guessing that I need to store images off site and link in to them, but I do not understand exactly how to accomplish this.
EDIT: Tzan just taught me how to post images - thanks. SHOULD I BE CONCERNED ABOUT BANDWIDTH??? _________________ I HEAR THUNDER IN THE DESERT.

You cant upload images to Sijun. You need to put them in some online storage space. Comcast gives free web site/storage space, so I use that.
You already have storage space, asuming you have total access to the web site that this image is posted to.
Start a post, takes you to edit page
click the "Img" button on the edit page
Add the URL of the image ( I cut and pasted these from those 2 web sites)
click the "Img" button again to close the tags

A URL looks like this:
http://home.windstream.net/themessiah/index.html_files/image002.jpg

I added spaces between the tags and the URL so you could see it. Just dont use any spaces and the image will show, like below.
Or maybe you could use this web site to link from.

image removed
COOL!!! THAT WAS SO EASY. I knew it would end up being something simple and someone would make me look like an idiot - thankyou, may I have another.
Tzan, if I could kiss you now I would (is that short for Tarzan?) And I did you your joke there...funny.
I have heard talk of bandwidth problems (stealing bandwidth, or something). I never understood all that. If I plaster my images everywhere, does that result in a bandwidth problem? If so, how do I manage that? And what is to stop people everywhere from doing what you and I just did, and exceeding my bandwidth limit?
EDIT: removed IMAGE - I HAVE PHOTOBUCKET NOW _________________ I HEAR THUNDER IN THE DESERT.

Tzan was the name of my first online character in Asheron's Call, back in 1999. A friend of mine decided that we should use those names in online forums, so we do.
Some sites like PhotoBucket will limit the total amount of file size that can be downloaded in a month. You may have seen the warning message in the SpeedPaint thread. Those two sites you have images on may have limits, so read the terms of use.
So if you put 1 image on 10 sites and each one gets 100 views
1 x 10 x100 =1000 x 100k (file size) = 100,000k = 100meg +/-
I wouldnt worry about it until it does become a problem. |

Your images are actually unusually large in size (bytes), so bandwidth usage might become a problem if your images are seen a lot.
The desktop sketches in particular is 330k, so about 1/3 of a megabyte, whereas most times you'd see that sort of image compressed down to 40k-70k. You lose a little image quality compressing it that far, so it's a trade off. But with a good compressor it should still look pretty good at that compression level.
The other two are around 200k each. So every time a new person looks at this page that's about 730k of bandwidth usage. It'd still take a lot of views to use up 1GB of bandwidth in a month, but if they're posted on a couple of sizable forums you'll get there. _________________ Art Links Archive -- Artists and Tutorials |

That photo there that you refer to is not a photo of sketches. I have been....informed that I should refer to those as grid drawings or tracings. Of course, you did not know that, so it is not your fault - just setting the record straight. _________________ I HEAR THUNDER IN THE DESERT.
