Yes, I've seen it mentioned on a couple of other forums, though no one's yet given a review (that I've seen).
I'm attempting to download it now. It's been nearly 40 minutes and onlyu 9% is downloaded. Slow connection, obviously, and it may not be possible since my ISP seems to disconnect me after too many hours.
It's now 7:36 pm in California and should be roughly 2 am before the download is completed (if I'm lucky).
Have you used Acrylic yet? Looks like you must have, to get the screen prints. What do you think of it?

Oh is that what they're doing with Expression? Interesting. Expression was a vector-based paint app that microsoft bought about a year ago. It used to be made by a company called Creature House. Here's something I did while playing around with it a while back:
Because it's vector-based, you can't really liken it directly to PS or Painter . . . you can move your strokes around after you make them, and obviously there's not going to be any blending going on. But it's still a very fun tool to sketch with. Kicks every other vector app I've tried in the ass, anyway. _________________ brian.prince|light.comp.paint |

Oh no, Im on 56k, and my isp disconnects me too after too many hours.
Anyways, the startup logo in the screenshot looks like something that can only be done in Painter, so I thought MS is going on a different direction with this codenamed acrylic program. Hey thanks for that review link jinnseng! Sorry for my english. |

roan,
Be sure to read the responses below the review. They tell a better story than the review does.
If the application is based on Expression and contains the vector capabilities of Expression, the reviewer completely missed the point.
Expression is/was a great application that allowed us to paint with vectors in a way no other application can.
The vector strokes look very much like painted brushstrokes. I've seen some excellent work that looked almost like watercolor.
My download failed completely so I won't be trying again. It's a huge file (for slow connections) and only 30 MB of the file downloaded and of course it was useless.

WOWZER! This is fantastic!
My download went smoothly - early Sunday morn may have had something to do with the success.
I've just played a bit, and I am ... excited!
There are so many different brushes - all vectored, but with what looks like bitmap properties.
It indicates that you can export to PSD format with layers... but that doesn't seem to work yet...
gonna play somemore... _________________ HonePie.com

I'm curious... being a vector based program, what is that you dislike about it? _________________ HonePie.com
