I want vicious critiques. If anything bothers you about this picture, then please tell me what. Also - how do you interpret her expression?

Hey Martin let me be the first. Although i become a posterwithoutimage one.
Back to your art.
I like the background very much. The hair is almost perfect.Never seen any better drawn one. The face is lovely done too. I dont like the scarf that much. First impression: Its autumn. Trees but no leaves. Im not sure about that red in the sky.
Expression is hard to point out. Maybe she thinks about the past. But she seems to be optimistic for he closer future.
Im not sure Martin, but to be honest. I think you should indicate better what you want us to see in this art.Has someone passed away?
But red hair are hot. good work! |

She looks relaxed and kinda content and sad at the same time. Dunno ...
The head sticks out a lot because of the different style ...
but I guess that is intentional.
I like the effect that the low horizon has on the image.
Too bad that the head doesn't seem to be viewed from below at all. _________________ http://www.conceptworld.org |

The hair is seriously awesome. The thing that bugs me is how the head doesn't seem to really fit in the picutre. The amount of detail on it compared to say, the coat, is a huge difference. Because of this, the head seems kind of out of place, like it's just floating there or something. It also seems like her head is too far forward.
As far as the expression goes, I detect a hint of a smile. Well, looking at it again I don't. It looks like she's staring, like her eyes are glazed over or something. She's just looking. Just thinking. I don't know.
I like the background alot, but the two trees seem to different. One is all straight and the other one is all droopy. The look awesome though. |

Her eyes seem wide open for looking into the wind. Most people would squint a bit. In general her expression seems very neutral. _________________ It's sad how entire families can be torn apart by something as simple as a pack of rabid wild dogs |

Wow, good job with the color and rendering.
As far is improvements, the angle/pose could use to be a bit more interesting.
Maybe put a little dutch on the camera angle. The girl could be standing sort of sideways, looking over her left shoulder. Might highten the narrative some.
Maybe just me, but it always bothers me to crop a figure between the hips and knees (or knees and feet for that matter) |

my eyes tell me that the church in the background and the girl isnt lining up correctly vertically, and that kind of bugs me (i get these twitches under my eye )
and man, that girl has the same face as the girl who plays in phantom of the opera.. _________________ DeadbeaT was here |

i think she seems to be too separated from the environment somehow...maybe it's too much of a contrast in saturation (and colours). Her face seems to be catching a lot of light, yet her clothes are like a black spot. Even black clothes do not look totally black when worn outside...in the daylight. _________________ It's nice to be important, but more important to be nice - Scooter |
