Hey, I see the picture now. Pretty nice rendering, but I think you need to work on the features of the face. Especially the lips and nose. The nose is much too rounded in my opinion and for the nostrels never use just a straight black. Always use a very warm and dark red, or something of the sort. With the lips, I'd think they'd be a little more open especially if she has blood running down from them. Did she just eat someone or did she undercook her steak? We want to know, so show us which! I think the eyes are marvelous, though, so keep that up. |

hmmm, my biggest crit with it is that it is kinda plain, its lacking a strong sense of mood or energy. I would suggest playing around with different sorts of lighting conditions, compositions, and colors in some quick sketches. If you need ideas look through other artists portraits that you really enjoy and have captured the kind of mood you are looking for and refer to it while painting. In terms of drawing maybe a bit more reference would be helpful for the anatomy and such as well. Nice job on the hair. _________________ http://www.angelfire.com/art2/wfkeil |
