Here's an acrylic painting based off a speedpaint I did here. Sorry for the bad glare in this pic.

the knight looks great

the rocks looks a bit unconvincing in the first pic
but if you crop it to the second pic, it looks better

So are you saying that you can't see them well enough in the first pic?

As I said in the wip Garden, I really like this one, really impressive rendering.
May I ask how you did all those small dots? did you just splash with the brush or did you add them one by one? cause they seem to be too controlled to be splashed on.

I think u can avoid the glare if you put your painting on a stand, I usually do that and if lit above it should work, but of course the camera sometimes have to be tilted a little bit too.

keep up the good work
have a nice day. Smile

I used a tooth bush for the dots Matthew, then I quickly wiped away any I did not want.

I made a few small changes to proportion the figure a little better. I moved the right arm out away from his chest, and made the knee on the back leg wider. The back leg is really to long but I don't feel like moving the rocks up to correct the problem.

It's a great painting, to start with. Great ambience, and I love his armor.

But I think what this picture lacks is a foreground to give it more depth. Everything seems to be just as far away, except for the foggy background. I think it would be mutch better if there were one big pointy rock on the foreground somewhere, or something like that.

errr.. i suck at explaining
in the first pic
the rocks on the lower left looks a bit more like a relief than rocks
maybe a bit more variation on the rock sizes or sumtin to make it look less uniformed
but if the pic is cropped like the last pic, it looks fine
