I wants one.
Neu: Auflsung: 5080 lpi (20 l/mm)
Isn't that the sensitivity? I think that's double the intuos 2. is it? |

Are they various tips for pens? That's a nice addition.
I hope the tips are compatible with the intuos2s
Does anyone know if they increased the sensitivity of the tablet? |

Some more Pics of the Intuos3:
Shot them myself. Im working with the Intuos3 for a month or so. For those who understand the german language I have posted a brief review of the Intuos3 -> here
Official news and specifications on the next generation of Wacom Tablets in english language will arrive 8th of septembre I guess.
@ skullmonkeys:
"Auflsung" is resolution. They doubled the spacial resolution of the tablet. The pen sensitivity remains 1024 units.
@ Tomasis:
The pen is as thick as the Intuos2 Grip Pen. But it is longer and the rubber-coating reached higher. It feals quite good in my opinion. _________________ Que la fuerza te acompae! |

I have a couple question for you, decoy, if you have time.
Do the new slider strips work by touching your fingers to them, or do you have to use the stylus?
Also, do you know what the sample rate of the tablet is? The Intuos 2 was something like 70Hz, if I remember correctly. _________________ brian.prince|light.comp.paint |

Of course I have time to answer a few questions. So if anyone is interested in specific details Ill try to answer them.
@ ballistic:
The tough strip is comparable to those little tough pads you find on laptop computers. You can use it with your finger or the stylus. Also you are able to lock the strips for use with the stylus only (for what ever reason you may want to...). I love this new feature because it does not only let you scroll (by default) through documents and webpages but you can zoom in and out in photoshop (or Painter...) or you can increase/decrease brush size. Generelly speaking, the tough strips are cool for all actions that have an increasing/decreasing character. I like to use them for undo/redo because with a flick of the finger you can "scrape" through the history back and forward. Thats pretty cool!
Concerning sample rate I have no detailed information yet. Guess we have to wait till 8th of septembre for the detailed technical specifications.
@ skullmonkeys:
Forgotten to tell: There are three tips now. The normal tip, a stroke tip (see those little springs in the photograph?) and a felttip. I could not test the felttip on myself because they only had a couple of those and they all went to photoshooting but I guess they may be pretty cool. They are intented to give you a rougher feel when sketching - like on paper. Im really looking forward to test this. The tips are all the exact dimension of the intuos2 tip so I think you will be able to use them with intuos2. Dont now though if the spring loaded tip does a good job in a intuos2 grip pen but its worth a try I guess. They definitely did some reworking of the pens mechanics. The tipfeel is more precise. I like the new grip pen. _________________ Que la fuerza te acompae! |

Thanks for the info, I really want to get one of those v3 tablets! I've got a question about the buttons. Can you assign keys to them, like CTRL, ALT, Shift, etc? Would be very useful when doing things in Maya without having to use the keyboard or buying the 9x12 to use the 4D mouse!
Thanks!

Just got it 2 days ago. the upper area of tablet is a bit rough, and feels scratchy when I try to draw, same thing with the side and bottom borders. My intous2 is feels much smoother because of this. Also noticed the The shiny plastic surface seems like it is opening in the back area of my tablet as well... havin a very bad day... goin to call the distributor and check if i can get a replacement directly from them instead of the reseller... sigh...
anybody else feel the difference? the tablet surface of mine is a bit inconcistent, middle is smooth, but outer areas especially the upper border feels a bit jittery/scratcy... the shop keeper wouldn't change it cuz he didn't notice the difference... |

That's some crappy customer service right there. Is the shop keeper an artist? Doubtful, so of course he wouldn't notice the difference. I'd go back to the store and demand an exchange.

cok3 did you let him try out your board? Dood I would never let anyone do that. It is like letting a no taste person judge in a food contest. Their is no reason for you to even try to explain to him, he'll just look at you like you are from outerspace... |

Went to the distributors office to have my tablet looked at. They let me try other tablets (2 of em), and i have to say that they feel worse than the one i currently had.... Someone plz tell me that intous2 is supposed to be generally smoother than the intous3 so I can sleep peacefully... I guess I can live with the top corners bein a little bit less smooth than the middle since I don't paint in full screen, not really a biggie, but I expect a brand new product to be perfect, especially comin from a company such as Wacom (who have a reputation keep). Sold my intous2 before I got the intous3, and I'm missin it already. |

I just heard that this guy at my uni ordered in a 6x8 intuos 2, paid for it. He went back there the next day and was told that they didn't have the intuos 2, but they ordered in a 9x12 intuos 3 - so they just gave him the intuos 3 - WHAT A BARGAIN! |

@ cok:
What exactly is your problem? When I understood you right, you feel differences in the surface quality of the foil which you paint on? You said the foil is rougher in the corners?
Did you try to polish the surface with a dry piece of textile to clean away any substances that could cause such an impression? And yes, I also feel that the new foil is a bit rougher that the one of the intuos2. I actually took this as being an advantage because it gives a better "grip" on the brushstrokes (especially in combination with the felt tip). But the actual differences on different parts of the foil are definetely not intentional. _________________ Que la fuerza te acompae! |

yah i always clean it once in a while. I guess its no biggie, I'm definetely not goin back to the intous2. I've learnt to live with the surface of the intous3, definetely not givin up the side buttons and scroller, real time savers. And i luuuv the stroke nib! I guess the Advantages of the intous3 outweigh its (personal)disadvantages. I highly recommend it. |

Just another note. I've had one since the week they came out and I don't know what changed exactly, but the Intous 3 is buttery smooth compared to my old 9x12 Intous 2. I'm able to really "stroke" now. I guess it could be a driver thing.
I don't have any jitter now either. _________________ www.phfx.com |
