I'm thinking of bying a Wacom tablet for drawing and coloring in Photoshop, but I don't know which one I should choose.
Is the Penpal Pro anything to begin with (i'm just doing this on an amateur plane. I'm just 14)? Or is there any other you could recommend? |

Umm..Not familiar with the Penpal pro, but I have a Wacom Intuos Graphics tablet and it's great. They offer an entry level tablet called the Graphire for right at $100.00 I haven't used the Graphire myself, but I have read posts on this forum from people who have. Maybe one of them could give a review. However, Wacom has the reputation of being the best in the industry for the products they make. If you can swing it I would recommend staying with one of their products. However, if you can't afford the Graphire at least get a graphics tablet- even if it means getting a cheap one. Try to get one that has good pressure sensitivity, but just get one. You will love it and it will improve your work so much over the mouse that you may not notice the difference in features for a long time. That's all- Good luck.

Try using the search option to search all the posts at this board and look up 'wacom tablet' or something like that.
There are a LOT of previous posts and threads on this subject so you should find your answer there.

I just bought a Graphire tablet and its been working great ... However, I have read a couple reviews and I do think there is one on Winmag.com ... (if you look up Wacom Graphier) in their search engine, they'll give you their review... It was a really positive one saying that even though its a 100$ Tablet it still competes will with the 300-400 dollar Tablets.. Unless your really really doing this professionaly =) ...

i also just got a graphire and i like it alot.. :P i recommend it
zdnet has a review for the graphire: http://www.zdnet.com/products/stories/reviews/0,4161,2396398,00.html
"If you want professional-like drawing capability without having to buy a pricey, full-blown graphics tablet, then look no further than the Wacom Graphire ($100 street). Despite a few minor quirks, the Graphire's extensive functionality and affordability make it the best business and family graphics tablet on the market" - PC MAGAZINE
