I am, almost finished, this painting of my dog, here is the updated version from the sketch, i think the dog is pretty much finished. What do you think?

I am sort of confused about the lighting, you know the blue sort of paint on the painting? That is the lighting. It was weird cause for the refrence, i was looking at, it was sunny, how do you make sun highlights on a dog?

If i am doing it right then hey! I feel good, but tell me if i am mistaken.

Also should i do a background, for this, or leave it like that?

Here it is:

I think the lighting looks pretty good and believable. Wildlife artists do tend to avoid overly bright and sunny settings though. Its good to pay close attention to light when taking your reference shots. A good job though. Are you planning a background?

GREAT job it really looks alive, i like it tons !!!
I think, that if you want to leave it with no background, you might
want refine it, and really clean up the edges of the image, plus because
of the forced prespective, it migth help you to add the front paws of the
dog, to make the image more stable.

keep em coming Very Happy
