Hi everyone,
Here is a pretty fast painting i did, but i dont really like it. I didnt use any refrence.
- I have a few questions if someone can answer them or help me:
When i paint, my paintings always turn out messy and ugly looking, i cant get that smooth look to it. Also i always get a whole punch of airbrush looks to it, like the circles on it etc.
Can someone tell me everything wrong with this, picture, i really dont like it but it looks like i can improve it. Please someone.. heh. Im stuck i have tried. I really need help, can someone do an overpaint or something and tell me what they did, give me tips on what to do anything, if not everything. Im dieing here lol.
Thx guys.
Justin.
P.S oh ya for some reason when i do a painting using a ref, of anything, it turns out awsome! _________________ When you look at a blank canvas or drawing paper, it stares you in the eyes and thinks it can beat you.~ Justin Beckett |

I'm definitely not the best person to answer your questions, but I'll try, since there are no other people commenting.
I suspect that you may be asking a bit more complex questions than you think. There are no easy answers for good or smooth looking art. Of course you can paint smooth transitions of color by using lower opacity in your brush or painting in bigger resolution, but that's probably not the answer what you are seeking?
There probably no one and only way to learn art. Everybody must more or less find their own path. However there are some fundamental skills you maybe should learn if you are serious about developing yourself in field of visual art, which are perspective, color theory, lighting and anatomy. All of the subjects are quite broad. You will find a lot of good resources from the net and also from the proper book stores. (Maybe running a few searches in sijun would be bad ideas either.)
Here is my two cents, hope it helps. |
