Heya Funfetus,
I just started playing with painter i found out its really fun, but i have problems laying the first basic colors, i mean from the skach, because theres no layers like in photoshop..
i'd like to hear how you do it..

I usually don't use Painter's "floaters" at all. I just do everything directly on the canvas, like you would with a real painting. I lay my colors directly over the sketch. Also, I save LOTS of versions, in case I screw up.
