Hey everyone.
I've been considering picking up one or two of the Brian Haberlin comic coloring tutorials, but wanted to get an idea of what anyone else thoughts, and which ones were recommended.
The cd-roms are 35 bucks a pop, from what I understand. I just want to be certain it's worth it before I pick them up. If anyone has any thoughts either way, please let me know.
Thanks!

I ordered all 4 from previews a few months ago, just recieved them last week. Unfortunately my computer died last month and Im now using my GFs comp. Which cant handle grafix heavy PS projects. Anyway...Ive checked out every one, and would have to say 3 of the four are worth it. The Anime Style CD seems to be a bit out dated and a bit rushed. You can find a lot better tutorials on the net for this subject. Its still pretty cool but not worth $35. Its too bad its cheaper to get the whole set than just the 3 seperate. The other 3 are definately worth it though. Comic Style, Spawn and Dangergirl are good Cds that are very informative, and easy to just pick up and go (If you have a little knowlege of the subject). The Greyscale painting is something hard to come by as tutorials go, and very well done. He doesnt "babystep" you through the whole thing, but shows you how easy it CAN go. All the cds have the PSDs, brushes, swatches, a PDF of basic scanning, setup and execution, all files to work with and a well done video. He makes it look easy, and doesnt go too fast for intermediate users. With the sheer lack of GOOD CDROM tutorials out there, these are a very welcome addition. |
