Those are some pretty cool pieces; The attention to detail is remarkable, and the overall rendering is very good. I can see a lot of time and effort went into these..Were there 3D models involved?

The first image, I am not sure what to say about it; I guess it's because I don't quite understand what's the context here. Why is the guy in the woods? He clothing doesn't look like a hunter to me, and a rottweiler is rarely used as a hound dog. And why is the house on fire? and are those lavas coming out of it? Also the lighting on the figures don't quite match the one used in the background. I'd expect to see some sun shafts through the trees,, judging by the way the guy's very well lit comparing to everything else around him.

I like the second image better, but like you said, there's something bothering about it. The prominent structure beside the girl and the artillery to its right forms this awkward tangent, which disrupt the general flow of the image. I also feel there's too many things fighting for attention in that area - the comet, treetops, the guns, the distant highways - and it becomes very chaotic as a result. Another thing that bothers me is the tree - it stretches from one end to the other, and structurally there's no way the branch can hold itself with all that length and weight.

Lastly I feel the images can do without the added borders as they look out of place to me. I hope you don't take it the wrong way, but often times simplicity is the most effective solution.
keep it up
