To me it looks as if the time was well invested! Good job.
Maybe you should have shaded the background too though.
The lighting doesn't read right if you only shade the object.
(That's something I read in a book I got yesterday )
I think especially the highlights on the axe thingie are missing.

Damn, probustion, I never really like Vallejo too much, absolutely prefered Franzetta or Jeffrey Jones. Nice study though. One crit: you are missing some of the depth around the abdomen that makes the original so powerful looking.

thanks guys, you are both right. maybe i'll do a little gradient in the background just like in the original(but it has to be said that it doesn't look as harsh on paper) _________________ talent is overrated. |
