*Please read Question 2 before you go to the answers*

Question 2:

Its time to elect the ruler of world's Gouvernment. There are 3 candidates, you have to vote one of them.

From the Vegetarian Association's site ( http://www.veg.on.ca/ ):

While it is true that Hitler's doctors put him on a vegetarian diet to cure him of flatulence and a chronic stomach disorder, his biographers such as Albert Speer, Robert Payne, John Toland, et al, have attested to his liking for ham sausages and other cured meats. Even Spencer says that Hitler was a vegetarian from only 1931 on: "It would be true to say that up to 1931, he preferred a vegetarian diet, but on some occasions would deviate from it." He committed suicide in the bunker when he was 56 in 1945; that would have given him 14 years as a vegetarian, but we have the testimony to the contrary of the woman chef who was his personal cook in Hamburg during the late 1930s - Dione Lucas. In her "Gourmet Cooking School Cookbook," she records that his favorite dish - the one that he customarily requested - was stuffed squab (pigeon). "I do not mean to spoil your appetite for stuffed squab, but you might be interested to know that it was a great favorite with Mr. Hitler, who dined in the hotel often."

Oh, I chose alternative 2 because number 3 was spoiled by the war-hero part.

I choose B) for president too when I first read this btw.

There is something negative about "war hero".
Because its quite doubtful that war makes heroes.

I just liked the stuff that you can come to when you think about this thing up there.

--
I translated this from german.. so I think veteran would hit the thing more than war hero.. I edited the post up there.

Well, I would simply not want to vote for someone who supports the army.

Thats true.

I had an annual school meeting yesterday and we all talked about how it has been when we were in the army. (in austria all men have to go to the army or to public service. Public service is about two times the months than in the army, so many choose the army here.)

We had the same opinion that these guys are not able to make a thought up of themselves except to kill someone.., so I guess such a person would not make a good president for the fictional world gouvernment.

Nex: it's pretty much the same here in Finland - civil service is 13 months while you can get out of the army in six. But there's always the 3rd option - a little over six months in prison. Which is what I intend to do.

Hmm, maybe thats not such a good idea..

I don't know how this is handeled in Finland, but here its pretty hard to find a job if you have been in prison before.

And by the way there are not the nicest of characters in prison either.

Why don't do the public service? If I would have the chance again I would do that. You get more money, and there are not so many idiots there.

Its both a damn thing anyway, I am very happy that i don't have to go though that again because I know for shure that I could not endure the military once more. The overwhelming stupidy and stubbornness there...

In every other case people that tech you are smarter than you, in the military its the other way around.

do you know the book catch-22 ? It says it all somehow. ALthough the book is funny and the reality is not in this case.

It doesn't stay on your record, and you can get into an open facility. And in any case, this has nothing to do with personal benefit. I have several reasons for not doing civil service - a protest against it's lenght, the fact that it's not really a statement against war since civil servicemen as well can be ddrafted into armed service during a crisis and just that I'm simply starting to dislike this society more and more, and would quite like to see it all fall down.

while i completely oppose war also, NOT choosing a president because he has been in war is one of the stupidest decisions you can make -- for 2 reasons. for one, a man who has served in the military (by choice or not) has proven he can work under very extreme pressure and has experience in numerous different fields. the second reason is, face the cold truth guys. war exists. its not going to go away any time soon. so if we have a president who is completely against any type of heated engagement, the next time any type of situation occurs (sadam finally decides to bomb us), do you think the crazed leader will try talking things through? nay. of course, we shouldnt have a president who uses war to solve all problems...we merely need one who will use it when necessary.

I thought Saddam was enjoying homosexual relations in hell with the devil.

...or did I dream it?
