This is the piece of crap which came out from a much more complex idea.

I inteded to paint a landing of a sphere like object; a huge globe city.

Instead the concept became to stiff and there was no point trying to save it. But yet I had come to far on detailing to just trash it.

Therefore I made it look like this

Now I call it finished and I'll move on...
No use spending time on bad designs! Smile

yet I'd love some "cnc" on it.

Hehe. Actually, you might! Smile
I'm planning on using the concept in a different enviroment and view.
But I came in the wrong spot with this one.

I mean, what crew does land a city like this.

I hardly think people would be able to live that way (tilted?) Smile

Well, maybe they are in process of landing it. I don't know where the prupulsion systems are, but you could add some smoke coming outta them, maybe surrounding the object, and you could add like a big, seemingly moving, crack going in some direction. I dunno....

As for the new explosion one, it looks really cool, but it could use some smoothness I think. It's kinda grainy.

-"let the mother fucker burn, burn motherfucker, burn" ...hehe, I came to think of the song Bloodhound gang made, hehe. :)
I really liked the earlier version and I had to make an over-paint of that one, I came up with the idea that you could perhaps add trees also and an entrance and such, think I made the entrance too big though cause it made the object to look smaller.
But I know the feeling when working with something and the idea isnt becoming as great as intended and thus one overwork the picture and yea you know the rest. Still though I like how you solved the mountains in the firey picture and also the burning city in the top.

Keep up the good work
Matthew

how a bout using the original pic, but add some scaffolds & work droids or something so it looks like their repairing after the crash.
