haven't posted anything for a while anywhere apart from the speedpaint thread.
I thought I'd see if I could get any thoughts on these speedpaints. I don't have any plans for them in particular but I thought, since you might, i'd put em in WIP forum.
on the first i can see that the anatomy is not spot-on by any means, which is not a surprise since I used no references, and that's just laziness on my part. but to be honest, things like anatomy and stuff aren't the hardest things to to improve upon
here's another speedpaint:
(some more of my 'art', or at least JPEGs, are available at my webpage.)
thanks for looking, and thanks for your thoughts

IT'S GREAT STUFF!!! What more do you want?!?!
They are quick sketches, with a lot of energy and I wouldn't change a thing. _________________ Madness takes its toll - please have exact change. |

Capt.Fred your latest stuff is really impressive, I see you getting better and better.
The first is an idea I have had too, some guy ripping up his chest, I guess Andrew Jones pictures is making a more impact on me than I want them too sometimes. I think he made a valentines port with ripping his chest up which was very impressive. Anyway I am rambling about Android.
The latest one has a great mood and I saw that one in the speedy aswell, maybe you have made the light-source too thin on the police guy which makes him look very flat. I think you could add a half tone or a tone little darker than the highlight value to the right of the highlight, kind of a bouncing light since the floor to the left is very bright, maan I am bad with explaining what I mean.
Maybe a little more detail on the guy on the floor since he is nearest the view-point, like showing fingers and such but hey who am I too say that cause I dont have my speedys detailed neither.
dunno if this was any good advice at all so feel free to beat me up now.
see you and keep up the good work. :)

yeah, the cop does look pretty cartoon. it hadn't really bothered my so much but I guess i could make him blend in more. your explainations are fine, I understoof you, and there is perfect justifcation for throwing morelight on the cop i'll give it a go.
yeah and that chest one, I had tried to do one like that a long time ago but it wasn't good. I thought I'd have another go at it I haven't actually seen this other one you were talking about, anthony somthing, its just based on this desire/feeling I have sometimes tht feels like it could only be truly satisfied by ripping my chest open.
Thanks matt for your words. I'll fiddle with that cop |
