hi everybody,
I'm very new to this forum and also to photoshop, which I use to modify my pix.
Now the problem...I startet to colour an old pic for my first try..and used the tut of dhabih to do it. And I have this two problems...
1. I'm not quite sure about the colour I should use in the pic(instead of the wyrm ..any suggestions ?
2. In the refinement step, dhabih added lil details like scratches or whatever..i tried to edit some "real-looking surfaces/textures", but it looked like crap.
Does anybody know a tutorial about that topic or can give me hints ?
thank you for your time

well welcome to the forums man.
Now before you try to go any further with that pic, id say it would be best to first clean it up make the outline smoother and try to keep the color in the lines. tehn go back and start shading, focus on one area at a time. and check out this link, they have tons of tutorials.
http://www.sumaleth.com/links/ hope that helps
Good luck man. _________________ Visit glitterbugs Secret Forum |

hey. not a bad start.. i think the tutorial by dhabih eng at this site should help u the most. i have a bad habit of blending all the shady pencil lines before i get the colors right. i think in your drawing it isnt a problem to leave the pencil lines unclean because u can always blend it into the style of your coloring... (dodge n burn i assume) |

A very old pic. I remember seeing this before, perhaps on the Worldforge website? Or you were showing it on their IRC server? Either way, if this is not too much worse than what you're currently drawing, you need to work on the basics before you worry too much about color. Study anatomy, perpective, etc for a while. Draw from life. Ignore tutorials, for the most part they don't help you with what you really need to know. You should be able to find plenty of books at the library on these topics.
Come back to this drawing after 6 months and 100 drawings from life and you'll spot your mistakes right off. Good luck! |
