anyway first one is an old one (about a month ago) but i didn't posted it anywhere (only at the [url]jayfotos.com[/url] forums for the contest, btw i won it , hooray for me) i'm posting this to make this post more interesting
And this i painted today i want to apply it for the cyberpunk contest (you have to make an ilustration for a cyberpunk card game). I probably won't win but i want to make this pic as good as possible so I really need your input on this. Should i work more on the background ? i'm interested is there something you like about the pic and what you don't like about it. Thanks and have a nice day

The composition: I think the ... what's it called? muzzle flash? shouldn't point directly in the upper left corner of the image.
Somehow too many different styles are in the picture (for my taste).
Maybe there are too many colors!? Or the colors are not related enough!?
I'm not a fan of the black shadow areas ... but that might just be me.
Because of that I don't like most of Timo Vihola's images ... so don't listen to me! 
Maybe if you drew something in the background with the saturated colors you already have in the image it would look cooler.

| hey odd, great pics, congrats on winning! I agree with andy T that the colours don't seem to be drawn together well. I'm not sure how you could fix it as I'm not that experienced with colour, but maybe someone else will. I love the textural quality of your pics, it makes them feel very real and tangible. |

AndyT: thanks, about the muzzle flash - i cant really do nothing about it now , althou i changed it a little. about the color - i agree. i tried to play with it. about the backgound - its very separated from the character but i want it to be like that, to add some lights there or other colors i would probably have to start from the beginning.
CwStone: cool, i'm not saying i can draw pretty people but this one was supossed to be ugly, i even wanted him to look more ugly but i think its good enought as it is now

Yeah the muzzle flash is better. Did you desaturate the color the shirt? I couldn't figure out what you did exactly!
But I like the colors definately better. Somehow it doesn't distract from the face as much.
What I tried here is to bring out an area of interest (his left arm and face).
I'm not happy with it though ...
