Looks good. Is the bg in 3d? If so it's been quite nicely composited with the 2d elements.

The guard looks a little short perhaps...nice kissy kissy expression by the way, very suitable.

Thanks,

Novacaptain, in answer to your query, yes the bg is 3d. Modelled and renderd in Maya, textured in Painter. The figure is 2D, a pencil sketch scanned then painted in Painter. The elements were composited and final post render clean up was done in Photoshop.. Thanks for the compliment on the compositing, that it would be too noticeable was one of my worries.

I've had a few others comment as to the girls height as well so I scaled her up a bit. About one and a half heads on the figure... she isn't quite so out of proportion with the door now. Amazing how when one has been working on a piece for hours obvious errors like that slip by completely unnoticed. Thanks for the crit.

Best

I didn't really see her as short in relation to the doorway. The thing causing the illusion is probably the size of the head and torso. This gives us some expectations about the lenght of the arms and legs which seem to be in conflict with what you've drawn.

I have to say, again that it's a very nice piece of work.

Yes, I see that I was missing the point entirely.

Her relation to the door was not at all the problem, but the proportions of the figure in isolation.

I've made some newer, more appropriate changes increasing the proportions of her torso and legs in relation to her head.

She still seems slightly out of prop. to me but at least now I'm on the right track.. I just wasn't getting it before.

Thanks again.
