I hope this is ok to post in this forum since it is regarding art education.
I'm currently attending university here in Australia doing digital media, but next year I plan on going on international exchange to America.
Unfortunately, my art school doesn't offer exchange to places such as Art Center, Ringling or Sheridan.
But it does offer the opportunity to go to UCLA and a heap of other Californian Us.
I'm also thinking of going to Alfred University in New York to the School of Art and Design.
Does anyone have any opinions on these universities in regards to level/quality of art teaching? Or are they places that teach 'modern art' rather than technical/traditional skills?
Or should I just save my money until after university and attend an atelier instead? |

To be honest, I think you should ask the art department heads of the schools you just posted these questions as well. If, after the responses you get, you decide you'd rather wait until you've graduated from the schools where you are, then you'll have the info on hand already and just need to briefly go over it to see if there are any changes. Best of luck guy. _________________ [:: Digital Marmalade! ::]

Alfred University is a waste of time. I live 15 minutes from the school, the art curriculum is a joke. I do not know anything about UCLA, but considering the size of the school and the proximity to studios and other schools, you would definitely be better off there. GL. _________________ -jm |
