Hi guys
Killing Sheep Records is currently working on a new dark drum & bass compilation CD and we are seeking artists who would be interested putting together the artwork.
While the pay is nothing amazing your work will be on show to thousands of people who purchase the product.
(Good advertising)

Well, I'm curious about this thread.
Could you answer a few specifics first, like the company background, the target audience(s) for the artwork you're asking for. Deadline FOR said peices of artwork. The length of the job, chances of further work from your group. The rights in regards to content ownership for the artwork and what you want to see from interested artists beforehand, ie, website portfolio/gallery, past accomplishments, references?
That's it. Please respond ASAP as I can only guess that this is something of interest and you've got a deadline to fulfil. I'd have asked via an email, but I get a feeling that it'd be better to make this an open response. _________________ [:: Digital Marmalade! ::]

This sounds like a fun, laughs and giggles job to me. The money doesn't mean squat, but knowing what's wanted and when it's wanted would've been great to know beforehand. Always nice to add another music group to the resume, ya know? _________________ [:: Digital Marmalade! ::]

Well life isnt always that simple - licensing tracks for compilations is difficult at best, you have to negotiate for months before even a heads of agreement can be sent.
Then you have to take your selection of musical tracks to distributors around the world and convince them that your product does something that the millions of other CD's can not do.
All this leads to the unknown in terms of project length - though i estimate two months max.
In relation to your statement about not knowing what is wanted - I posted a website that displays the type of work we desire.
http://www.ptplondon.com/
I like to keep things simple as oppossed to wanking on with unimportant details.
1. cd project needs artwork
2. if you dont desire loads of money but would like to promote your name on thousands of cds - email us (then we will talk payment and conditions)
3. the ptplondon website contains the type of images we like to be used on cd covers.
Cheers. |
