An older piece finally finished. I used overlay textures on top of a painted version of that skull.
Its quite boring again. I think its missing something (I guess mainly because its floating). but hey, have to stop at some point...

Neat Smile

Your skull had a great orthodontist.

I think it would be much more compelling in an actual setting.. even if fairly trivial.. against a wall, in a dusty corner... something to bring a great sense of reality to it. If you have the background a separate photoshop layer I think it would be neat to play around with that.

The textures do look very nice

Wow the texture is amazing...

I guess the only thing that bugs me is the helmet... something seems wrong about it... i guess it's the perspective (the little piece that came down from the top to between the eyes). But I think that's just something wrong with my eyes....

Great job though! There is no doubt about that!

Looks good. I think the cheek bones are off a bit. They look a little flat. Since the head is turned, one should be further away than the other. And like everyone else has said the texture is wonderful. Is it of your own concoction or did you use a photo?

Thanks everyone!
Yes the skull has a number of mistakes like the cheek bones. The textures I used are actually photos with some work on them, but not much painting effort though.
