This is a concept for an Unreal Character. I'm pretty inexperienced at drawing and rendering characters
so I was kind of figuring it out as I went along, which
is why it is sort of half cell shaded, half painted.
Here are the WIP shots so maybe you can get an
idea of my process. (all photoshop / wacom)
Feel free to crit this to death! I don't think I'm going
to do any more on it since I'm pretty burn't out on it atm,
but I'd really appreciate ideas of what I need to work
on for the next one. Thanks

I love the progression pic. The final one is great, but I have one small crit. Almost the whole body is outlined with a thin black line, except for the arms and the head. The helmet blends a bit into the shadow, but the left arm gets a bit lost, especially his hand. The color is a bit to close to his shoulder pad, and his wristband. Other than that I think the pic is great. |

i like it, alot, but i just have to say that ya gotta pic one (cell-shaded and outlined or 3-d w/ no outlines) and stick with it.
although if he's an Unreal character i think he should have a meaner face.... _________________ -Chase |

Thanks a lot for the good advice guys.
I think I'm going to give it a little breathing space, then go back and cell shade / outline it all and darken that left hand to stand out
You're dead right about the face, CWStone, I'm pretty bad at faces but I'll try to make him a little meaner while I'm at it.
Cheers. _________________ Saturnfive Design |
