I've been working on this as a background to an artic city or mountian base.
Done in PS6 at 300DPI. This image is 35% of the original.

Jinkies dude. No comment here - I'm speechless. At first I thought it was a photograph. Dude that's stunning.

Man, I love staring at this piece. I hate people who are good like you! Smile

Here's a suggestion, the shadow on the right side of the picture seems like a blue blob instead of a shadow. I don't know, try adding just a little bit darker shade of blue somewhat in the middle.

Man, I wish my computer were fast enough to run 300 DPI huge pictures. :sniff

Thanks! I'm thinking of putting a large, ancient alien ruin in the middleground, and maybe a small mountin base with some contrasting/complimentary colors in the foreground.
Spot on Skillet, that bule shadow is a blob now that I can look at this with fresh eyes. ( The market down the street had a special on fresh eyes, always handy to have. )
Don't be too hard on yourself for not having a fast computer. Mine's an HP pavilion running at 450 Mhz. I get alot of reading done while painting. Remember : John Henry beat the steamshovel ( of course the downside to that story is he then dropped dead. That said though, it's the artist not the tools they use.

very nice piece. only judging by the color of the sky I would suggest that you make the snow in the highlight areas whiter...snow is very reflective and on a sunny day it would look almost pure white even from a distance.
