I have to make some more sketches set in the third crusade, got any links to reference images that might be useful? People, environments, weapons etc? I've searched quite a lot on it specifically but mostly only get a truckload of text... |

This link is all I have so far, though it's a good one:
http://www.varmouries.com/
it only shows armour for the christian side. I'm still wondering what the saracens looked like. I spent 3 hours yesterday searching with every known search engine, and only got translated medieval texts, book reviews, student essays and reviews of the Indiana Jones movies. I thought the internet had everything... but I guess this is one area where a good oldfashioned library works better. |

The absolute best reference for all things military is the Osprey Press "Men at Arms" series of books (especially any with illustrations by Angus McBride). They have loads of info and visual reference, great illustrations (usually) and they're highly accurate. And I know they have one on the Saracens, and many others on the Third Crusade Era. _________________ Smokey, this is not 'Nam this is bowling. There are rules. |
