This was painted in 300 dpi and 6000 pixels wide. The photoshop
file itself was about 150mb.

Worked on it during:

150mb Computer choking beauty !!!
FYI: One of more recent matte paintings I worked on was 7K,
approx 7000 x 3500 pixels, it was 475mb and the swap file
ran at over 4 gig, it was painted at high res for a zip pan,
we then down size it so it is the equivalent of a HD plate
in either direction IE either 1920 by x, or, x by 1080, the shrinking
is to make the plate more crisp upon export, it works especially well
for animation backgrounds by tightening up the original hand drawn
linework etc.
WELL DONE |
