Hi, I don't know if this is the correct place to post this but since it's about techniques I thought it is suitable.

I want learn about comic art. Penciling, inking and coloring in comics all seem to have some kind of logic of their own to create their visual style. What information is available on comic art? What techniques are used and what's the proccess in creating an image of this style?

A better place to ask your questions is PencilJack. It's a forum focused on comic style art, and even has weekly assignments to practice your technique. There's also alot of information to be had on Figma/Secrets of Comic book artists where several questions about comic art technique are answered by pro comic artists. And another big comic art site is Digital Webbing. Thats all I know of.

I can't tell you how to ink or color, but if you are going to pencil, I'd say practice drawing human anatomy, lots and lots of human anatomy. And you should absolutely buy Perspective for Comic Book Artist, which is a fantastic book.

Pencilling, I would say, is pretty much up to you, but for inking, http://www.larrydempsey.com has advice from almost a majority of the pros in the business (such as Tim Townsend, Brian Bolland, etc.) - it's invaluable advice. www.comiccolors.com has a forum populated by some of the best colourists in the biz, such as Laura Depuy.

Do yourself a favor and pick up books by John Vanderpoel, George Bridgeman, and Andrew Loomis. For inking, use Kolinsky Sable watercolor brushes. The bigger the size, the better. The bigger size brushes hold more ink and allow more line width variety, yet they keep their precision point.

Go to comic book conventions as well and chat up the professionals at their booths when they're not too busy.
