I remember having to do something similar to this in my 2d design class last year... but only verticle straight lines :p.
So hard sometimes to make straight perfect lines
I like the first pic instead (with same colored black lines) than the 2nd. I think there were more lines as well which gave it a more darker look in the background which gave it balance with their unlined clothing :p.
One thing though is the background lines don't appear to go behind them both because you didn't continue them close enough or touch them with their suits which makes it (to me) lose some depth in the picture.
And also the eyes on the godfather but they should be like that if you used heavy photo ref on it.
You should post the photo you used up here so we could help you out some more if u needed it with it
It looks nice enough though Good job on it.
