Trying to paint a guy riding a frog... Here's the sketch and the frog painting so far. Suggestions for bg and crits would be most helpful.

I think the frog would look cooler with a wetter look ... like that
Feng's frogs
Yours seems to be made of rock.
That guy on the frog seems to be surprised because you take a picture of him
I'm not sure if the perspective is wrong or right but it could be more interesting I guess. _________________ http://www.conceptworld.org |

is the frog supposed to look all cute an stuff? Cuase right now he looks really friendly. I think it would look cooler if the frog looked more like a real frog, like that feng guy. And what are u gonna do 4 the bg? _________________ -Chase |

I'd go on like that. The perspective will turn out a little strange I guess but I like the colors. The leaf adds to the picture. I like it.
I still think you should think about the expression on his face.
Composition is ok IMO.
Keep it up. _________________ http://www.conceptworld.org |

Hi! I think it would be interesting if you used more contrast in your colour scheme, like a different green for the leaf (cooler, more blue-toned?). Also, maybe you could try adding a slight bit of dark-purple to the shadows on the frog, just to make the colours more "vibrant". I hope you can use this for something. Keep going! =^_^= |

Worked on the perspective a bit....
Pixelkitten used her first post on me, I'm flattered!
I'll have to try again with the leaf, and see if I can give it it's own colours.. I think I'lll try some blues as well.
Thanks for the suggestions! _________________ Radiater |
