Applying to get into a smallish University in BC, Malaspina Universitys, 2 year art transfer program (to probably University of Victoria, or University of BC in Vancouver) this friday, and am finallizing my portfolio. I have a few more photos I may be adding in, If I can figure out where my Fiance put her digicam Ive been using and take them off and like them. And the Warmish seascape is still being finished up. Time permitting, Ill add a quick illustration in either that, or redo some concepts for stuff Ive done in the past in much tighter marker renderings.

I know several of the images have crappy backgrounds, Im still getting better at those, but these are the best I currently have to offer, more or less ^__^;

I dont think Ill include all of the photos that I have in their at the moment, but Im not sure which to disclude, I allready narrowed down the selections a lot, and am having trouble putting asside personal preferences to decide which are stronger.

Wish me luck guys

i dont mean to be harsh, but im not too keen on your photography. They just seem to be like family vacation photos.
I think you should have more traditional pieces as well, and not so many digital sketches

Applying to schools can be nerve-wracking. I agree with Chthonic Divinity about your photography, and I've also found that art schools aren't looking for photography in portfolios. I've had more than one very talented friend be turned down because they included too many photos (good photos too). I'm not certain about the specific schools you're applying to, but you might consider asking what they're looking for in a portfolio.

But I wish you good luck!

I like your digital painting. I'd skip the photography. In the image titled "pilot, small", there is no way her left hand could look like that, her thumb is on the wrong side of her hand. Plus, it looks like it would hurt!
good luck.

Hey I went to malaspina. I did a year of that two year art course then dropped out to go to Vancouver film school to do thier 3D animation course. That was much more fun but there were alot less girls at VFS. I went from a really good social life to living in a dungeon. But at least I have a job now.
Very Happy

Machine god: How long ago did you go? And did you find the course worth while at all? I am putting my application in tomorrow, and have my portfolio interview thingy the begining of next month. Am looking forward to it, but hoping the school isnt crappy since its kinda small.
