Hi folks, I realised that we didn't really see the same colour on our own respective monitors (especially with Macintosh and PC monitors)... and the same also goes with our printer.
The main question is.. "How do we make the colours on our PC monitor as accurate as possible? and how do we make sure that the picture we printed out is exactly the same in colour and contrast with what we see on the monitor??"
I've painted a gorgeous painting (which I will post up later after this matter is solved) and when I wanted to test it on the print to compare the colours with the ones on the monitor... I discovered that the colours are not the same at all and its brighter on the paper... so I calibrated the PC monitor to macintosh default for gamma, and the brightness is satisfactory, but another problem suffaced... the purple colour on the monitor is more towards blue than on the paper which is more towards red....
so I fixed that by increasing the monitor's red gamma, and now the rest of the painting becomes more reddish! I tried so many times to make the colour exactly the same as that on what I've printed out but I only can make one area of colour accurate and the other non accurate!
I'm really frustrated with my monitor colours because as artist, we are supposed to have total control of everything...
sorry if I blabber too much incomprehensible stuff, so to make it short, how to we know the red (or blue or yellow) colour is the same red you see on the monitor.. and how we can correct the matter.
Your feedbacks and guidances are very much appreciated! Thanks |

bleeeh, stop!
unless your monitors are all top quality, ur never going to get the same as you see on 1 machine to b the same on all the others..
to calibrate ur monitors look HERE get this then calibrate all ur monitors with it. then at least your looking roughly the same, when i used 2 use Macs i changed the Mac gamma to page white.. |

Gosh... I didn't know there is such software to correct the problem! Its as if they purposely made the monitor to become inconsistent so that they can release those products to make more money... a silicon conspiracy!!!
Anyway, thanks Bob, for informing me about those softwares! |

Besides getting those softwares, are there any other gimmicks... some technological wizardry to make monitors bow to our every whim?
sigh... if nothing else, then I definetely should get those programs! |
