Nice work Anders. I like the mood and play on contrast. There's a highlight on the neck/chestplate that doesn't appear elsewhere on the armor which I find just a little strange. The figure posture looks a little odd somehow, but I'm not sure I can put my finger on it, I think perhaps the head is too far back into his spine from this angle, and/or the back of his neck/head is way too thick (looks like shaved hair) unless it is armor.
I dread critiquing work nowadays, especially critiquing work that is beyond mine in render quality and clarity from a really good artist as yourself. I also know how demoralizing it can be to work hard on a piece, post it the very instant, and have people put it down and make you see your flaws without having the time to sink it all in and have the image mature -- I think critiques so close after finishing a piece isn't good due to the fact that there is still that attachment to the piece fro the hard labor. So, take what I wrote with a grain of salt if you will. Daring resolution. =]

This picture is just terrible, thats what my cat said.
But me on the other hand, i think this picture is INCREDIBLE, the background alone take my breath away. The shadings on the guy is awesome too. i dont see any technical flaw in this picture, you win. I love you. _________________ Join Roundeye SECRET art forum shhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!! |

Holy Apes. This is so incredibly good. The background - awesome.
The knight looks a little stiff, like he is posing, but still very very tight.
P.S.
Sorry 'good', 'awesome', and 'incredible' are the limit of my vocabulary when i see a pic like this. |

Wow... that is really good. How long, out of curiousity, did this take you?
Regardless, job well done chief. _________________ Put a muzzle on her Turkish, before she gets bit. You don't wanna get bit, do you boy? |

I think it woul even cooler if he was smiling less/looking less pleased with himself.
however this picture is absolutely incredible -- quality on a level with the masters we are all familiar with |

hahahahaheoheo Balistic
incredible work there n_n I love the roughness and shady mood.
Frost is right about the highligh on the collar thingny it looks bizarre since it doesn't appear anywhere else on his armor.
and also about the pose issue...from my point of view the problem is the arms...looking at the picture we can see by the angle of the "knight, warrior, lumberjack" that his right shoulder is closer to us than his left but his left arm is the one that looks closer to us, yet the angel of the axe's handle shows us that the right extrimity (our right) is farther to us and the blade is closer to us.....BUT! his left hand is the one that looks closer to us....see what I mean?
contradictory isn't it?
you could fix that by playing with the shadings and increasing the size of his right hand a bit.
but again...man....those trees...the envirroment, if there were a drooling emo-icon this post would be soaked with amazement =P _________________ I touch myself only where it counts |

Really nice overall, but he does seem a little off balance. I find that it helps to start the drawing from the feet up in this kind of pose. |

Great image, the compostion and light are well done. The only crit I have is that I like the detail of the leaves on the trees, but i wonder if they look flat be because there is little variance in the directions of the leaves and they are no clumps of leaves. It all looks kind of uniform. Just some thoughts... _________________ ICQ # 84220724
