Hello again. I've decided to share some of my traditional artwork with you. I would like critique, but not specific critique on particular images...i'm looking for more general pointers and advice to take into consideration when i draw. It's mostly from imagination and some are drawn after a particularly interesting Paintchat/open canvas session. There are some pictures that are made after observation of live subjects (mostly myself).
The cover of my sketchbook. I only painted the demonic grapefruit but i imagine the original cover was done by dipping it in a mixture of oil paint and water. "insanity tastes like grapefruit" they say...and by "they" i mean "me".
The great seagull hehe, If you haven't read the book called "Jonathan Livingston Seagull" you really should, it's short but it certainly leaves a great long-lasting impression on the reader.
A viking! Actually the viking helms were a lot more elaborate and protective than that, but it looks funny this way *laughs*
A drawing copying a painting by John Bauer, swedish artist that lived from 1882 to 1918. His works have been used to illustrate countless folcloric tales of trolls, witches, kings, princes and princesses etc.
My left hand and some random doodles
Some sort of psychotic rabbitmonster. I think it's a visual element that has stuck with me ever since the Rabid Rabbit VS Kung-fu Bellhop drawings that i started doing once night at 4 am in paintchat.
Angels. The topmost angel was left in the sketchbook by a friend of mine who, happened to give me the book, thinking it was empty.
This page is sort-of like a tribute to kierston a.k.a. "rubygenesis" On conceptart.org because, frankly, these drawings are nothing but second-rate copies of her beautiful drawings. The woman sitting with back turned is drawn from life.
The B/W faces, are again, blatant ripoffs from the same artist mentioned above. The Double-iris eye, commonly known as "TOOL artwork" can be seen as painted by the original artist at http://www.happypencil.com definately worth a look. _________________ It's nice to be important, but more important to be nice - Scooter

An attempt with acrylics, rather horrible but it was good practice. I tried do loosely follow the guidelines by prometheus/ANJ-77. Not visible here (thank goodness) is the "brilliant finish" in the white paint that makes this page SPARKLE like something horrible from some past-time disco era.
A "this is not my happy self" sort of portrait...didn't turn out very good because i drew my face at two different angles into the same picture...like picasso but unintentional which just makes it bad.
A dragon! Inspired by a tatoo that a dude i know had made on his arm.
More dragons and a portrait of one of a guy in my class. The bird picture is a copy of Toast! 's design. The crazy naked dude with a towel on his head has an explanation, i promise...but i can't remember it.
A stapler, from life. Regular and color pencils. (faber-castell if you wonder)
A little bit of everything here. experimenting a little more with color pencils. The dude in lower right is loosely based on a silly cartoon called "medabots".
Here is the sketch that led to this picture
I don't think you'll have any trouble guessing where the idea for this came from.
Ah, my left hand again.
Some opencanvas fun led to this drawing. She's supposed to be a survivor of an extreme global-warming situation... _________________ It's nice to be important, but more important to be nice - Scooter |
