Haha, I'm so sorry, this is so corny. This evolved from a sketch I did with absolutely NO planning, wich should be pretty evident given the lousy composition, cropping and lack of energy.
I am, however quite pleased with the shading.
Please critizise, paint or comment.
Do you reqognize the gun? (it's a bit chubby )

Don't know what you're talking about, man. Looks gorgeous!
Fantastic use of light and shade. I really don't see what's wrong with the composition, it has great balance.
Damn, I gotta re-evaluate how I'm doing my greyscale images. |

In terms of lighting and form, this is some of your best work yet. Nothing immediately jumps out at me as being wrong, though I'd like to see some more variation in surface quality, such as metallic parts on the robot, and glossy areas on her outfit.
Once again though, the forms read really well. _________________ brian.prince|light.comp.paint |

Jimmyjimjim:
Thanks, I 'm not good at composition and dynamic poses, and base my selfcritique on what I've heard others say.
aColdOldKodiak:
Masculine? Hmmm...I might look into that, I might not. I can't see it I must admit.
wacky:
Thanks!
paranoid?:
Thank man. Yeah, arms are a bitch to do, atleast for me, hehe.
balistic:
Thanks Prinz! Good suggestions, there are no real difference in surface texture is there. I was concentrating on values I guess. Cool
Matthew:
Thanks
And a thanks to the guys who gave crit in my "lighting study" thread. I dont wanna bring the thread back from the dead, so.....

Hey sukhoi, this pic is really good. I love the face. The angle and rendering are so impressive! I love the dynamics, the hair and body movement really add to it all.
Great work considering you didn't plan, you'll go far!
My only complaint is that it looks like you got bored of the image as some of the rendering isn't as polished as other parts (like how you can see the linework on the robot) but I'm sure you're capable of doing it all.
Once again, really great stuff. |

JasonN:
Thanks! Yeah, you're absolutely right. Got a little eager to get it finished.
I've tried to change the arm a bit, make the whole thing a little more uniform linewise, and added some smoke stuff.
Is it too cluttered?
Was it cooler when the bobot "bled"?
Balistic, I'm still pondering what to da about the surface..... MUST do something interesting.

that is really awesome. And I'd love to give you critique, but especially the last version looks perfect to me. Only the robot's parts look a bit chubby. Maybe you could add some nurnies (?). You know these little details that don't really chnage the form of the robot but accentuate some parts more than others. Like cables, vents, lights, welds etc. |
