Well, several things strike me right away.

The first is that there is absolutely no contrast, no focus whatsoever. It *needs* a focus. It needs highlights, it needs shadows.

The second, once my eyes make their way through it all, is that there is a complete lack of composition. It begs for balance.

The third is anatomy of the figure. I would highly recommend using some sort of reference to make him more realistic. As it is now, it is vastly disproportionate, and just....off.

So, to sum up -

Contrast
Focus
Balance
Anatomy

=)

my question is why is the character holding the axe above his head.. i mean, there is no one around to see him, is he stretching? benchpressing his axe? he's facing away from the viewer which indicates he's unaware of the viewers presence so it really doenst make sense that he would be doing this victory pose so far away from the buildings in the distance with no one around.

I would personally have him in a more relaxed pose with the axe at his size.. looking intently at eh city..

anyways thats my two cents.

On the flip side, I happen to like the stone pillars. Look very good, I also like the city in the background. A simple short term fix would be to play with the contrast settings in your art program. Kicking that up a notch would help this good work out a ton!

Autopsy; actually the main reason for his pose is that I had planed the city to look as though it had been ransacked and burned (ok so it doesnt look that way but hey just one more thing that needs fixing), that city being his city. He is making a declaration to the god(s) to strike down upon those who did this. Ok so that is really hard to read in this image, I probably should have had him at lest looking up at the sky or at the city Embarassed

Al Ian; hey thanks I might just do that.. And if it looks better I will post it up
thanks for the comments
