Yeah, ditto. You'll probably find you get more feedback (that's more helpful) if you ask very specific questions about specific pieces. I.E. "On the villain guy I'm having trouble with the anatomy in the left shoulder. Any suggestions?" If you really need general feedback maybe ask something like:" in these images what do you think is my weakest point, what do I really need to work on?" _________________ Smokey, this is not 'Nam this is bowling. More specific questions. Got it.

How can I colour so that it looks nice? Do I need those special pressure pads or is the ol' mouse good enough. I think the coloring is just plain awful. |

if you want my opinion, the colours are too wishy-washy. go for some more definition, some harder edges, and try to separate the background from the character, using saturation/value/hue to provide contrast. you might want to try out various colour schemes using flat color to start out.
good luck |

On the positive side, I will say it has a definite overall "feel" to the color. But Geztar's right, too much soft airbrushy looking edges. Are you painting on top of or under your line art? _________________ Smokey, this is not 'Nam this is bowling. There are rules. |

I painted over the lines with an airbrush in Photoshop, using a few layers in case I screw up. That's it, nothing fancy. Since the original is pencil, it's hard to paint it as though it were marker line art. |

Yeah, that's what I thought. It will probably be easier for you to paint on a layer under your lines, so that you can turn up the opacity of your brush and make more decisive brushstrokes without being afraid you'll cover too much of your linework. This will also help to get rid of the overall soft "mushy" feel to the color as well. I'd also try to use more brush and less airbrush for the same reason. As to the mouse issue, I worked for a couple years painting with a mouse before just recently getting a WACOM. It can be done, it's just slower and you can't vary the width of your brushstroke as you lay it down like you can with a pad. Keep plugging away. _________________ Smokey, this is not 'Nam this is bowling. There are rules. |

anotherway is to make a layer on top and use the 'multiply' option on the layer |

As mentioned, it looks like your art has fascinating potential! My best advice is to just keep practicing and practicing, that goes for coloring as well as drawing.
Specifically, on the one with the guy...the pour soul only has three fingers! For some reason that bothered me. The coloring is pleasing, but much too blurry. I don't know how easy it is to get good results with a mouse...but the colors definitely need to be crisper. Try to avoid really soft edged brushes for the most part.
As for the girl, it looks good! Her ear is too high, but generally the lineart was visually appealing.
Keep at it! I can't wait to see more from you! _________________ Stay Frosty!

Man, that's a 150% improvement over the first try! great work. Don't it feel great to see yourself improve like that? Keep it going, color one of your other pics, and let us see it. _________________ Smokey, this is not 'Nam this is bowling. There are rules. |

It just gets better and better! I very much like the new coloring job, and the new sketches (especially the rune2 one...very stylish)!
I agree with Inspector Lee, let's see some more colored work. Can't wait for updates...
Oh...hehe, sorry about the 3 finger thing. who'd have guessed? _________________ Stay Frosty!
