i think that the white lines kinda thorw off the image my eyes onlyfocus on them....a basic background to set an atmosphere would aslo help...the blue cloth and the siymoblos on him all have value...try looking at real folds....and soem eyes wont hurt ...but thats just what i think...

the white lines are where the line work used to be - unfortunately i made the lines WAY too thick, so it's taken some work to blend them out (ie. on the face). I'm not quite sure what you mean by 'real folds', could you explain that further???
thanks for the crits so far, i will post progress as i am able. _________________ Life is what you make of it. Mine's a bowl of ice cream. |

What he means by "real folds" is he is referring to the loincloth. Take a towel or something and hold it in front of you like a loincloth. Then take a picture of it and use it as a reference when drawing it. Trust me, there is nothing better than using a real life reference.
Also make the background black, that way it fills in the spaces. It won't be as distracting.
Nice pic, though. _________________ Staff artist for Realms of Evil games. |

Ahhh, that's what he meant by 'real folds'. Gotcha!
I'm wanting to put a globe of 'power' or 'magic' above his head, which is the light source in the picture - but am a little unsure of how to go about doing it. I was thinking of using 3D Studio MAX, but think that's kinda cheating... _________________ Life is what you make of it. Mine's a bowl of ice cream. |
