well, its british telecom bashing time. ive had my adsl with them for about 4 months now, recently, moved house, and phoned themand asked them to transfer the line. they said everything was ok, theyll handle it. that was 13 days ago.

about a week ago, someone fixed the line came round and said that within the next few days someone will come and fix it. well, a next few days later, noone came, so i decided to ring them now. guess what they tell me. they tell me that i cannot tranfer the account, i have to cancel the first, and sign up again. problem with that being, there is a 28 day waiting period for disconnecting the old one, and a further 28 day waiting period for signing me up again. as if this is not bad enough, i have to pay for the next 8 months on the old service until the contract runs out, pay for the disconnection, pay for reconnecting and pay the normal bill.

all in all, pretty expensive, should come to something close to the 500 pound mark, not counting the monthly bills. any ideas anyone? im desperate!!!!

phone them back and ask to speak to the manager. Politely inform him of the promises that were made to you and tell him that you are switching to another service because you find their service absolutely attrocious. Tell them you arent paying for a service you didnt recieve.

just yell and make a fuss, then remove your bandwidth cap and when they arrest you, say that you where paying for more then the amount with the cap removed.

When negotiations fail, do badly upon them too.

what kind of service is this.
